We have been born for this war my friend

So keep your Armor on. By faith you must contend

Yet the battle rages on sometimes to our dismay

But victory has been promised for those who trust and obey

The Command has been issued to be girded with truth

Your Doctrine must be sound and your life above reproof

To be protected from the schemes of the master of deceit

A life of daily righteousness is your breastplate against defeat

They’re mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,

Casting down every imagination

That exalted itself against His Word

Your feet must be shod with this Gospel of Peace

It’s time to tell the Good News. There’s no time for retreat

So pick up your Shield of Faith

The enemy’s darts can be discerned

By your hope, the Christian’s Helmet,

Your trust in God will be firm

My favorite part of the Armor,

Without which all other parts are null and void

The Sword of the Spirit is knowledge and understanding

And applying of God’s Holy Word
