Leonard Ravenhill became one of the twentieth century's greatest authorities
on revival, and the heart of his message to the Church is contained in these
pages. His message is drastic, fearless, and often radical. Appalled by the
disparity between the New Testament Church and what passes for the Church
today, Ravenhill gives a no-compromise call to the principles of biblical
revival.

Apostle of Simple Faith." While most missionary biographies detail the lives
of Western missionaries, this is the story of the African missionary that
God called to the United States when slavery and segregation were a way of
life. Previously published under the title The March of Faith, this book
details the moving life story of Samuel Morris. After a miraculous escape
from certain death during the ravages of intertribal warfare in Liberia,
Africa, Kaboo was converted to Christ by Methodist missionaries and baptized
under the name Samuel Morris. Traveling to America for pastoral training in
the late 1880's, his trip was a missionary voyage in itself when several
seamen were lead to Christ through his godly life. At Taylor University his
example of faith made him a leader among the students and a challenge to the
faulty. An unforgettable biography which shows Christ's love felling all
racial barriers.

praise and popular acceptance and is here condensed into one magnificent
volume. This is a study of one of the most powerful preacher's of the 18th
century. Unparalleled in his speaking ability and zeal, George Whitefield's
life has been described as a consuming fire that burned without end. In the
wake of his preaching, revival swept across the British Isles, and the Great
Awakening transformed the American colonies. His hearers included such men
as Benjamin Franklin and David Hume. Whitefield, a founder of Methodism,
yielded his leadership to John Wesley rather than risking the split of the
movement, thus revealing his fervent commitment to the Gospel of Christ
rather than his personal hopes or plans. Arnold A. Dallimore was a Baptist
pastor for 38 years and has also been editor of THE EVANGELICAL BAPTIST. He
has written other biographies on Christian leaders of the past.

Differences between much of today's preaching and that of Jesus are not
petty; they are enormous. The chief errors are not in emphasis or approach
but in the heart of the Gospel message. Were there a deficiency in one of
the areas mentioned in these pages, it would be serious. But to ignore all -
the attributes of God, the holy law of God, repentance, a call to bow to the
enthroned Christ - and to pervert the doctrine of assurance, is the most
vital mistake.

Through 38 years of active personal witness and preaching to sinners, the
author has gained a keen practical insight concerning evangelism. This small
work informs us what the unconverted must be told, and it directs us to
techniques consistent with our noble message. Pastor Reisinger's material on
both these matters is uncommonly rich in biblical content and in full accord
with the old Baptist standards. He has made a needed identification of
modern abuses in evangelism.

This book introduces us to a mighty prayer warrior and
missionary to India, John Hyde. It is a challenge to believers everywhere -
a call to intercessory prayer. John Hyde entered a spiritual realm where few
men have been, that "place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God." Hyde's
story is an invitation into his prayer closet. As you read, you will learn
how to be "shut in with God, in the secret place" - and you will desire a
deeper life of prayer for yourself.

this aroma is the relationship between husband and wife. Many can fake an
attempt at keeping God's standards in some external way. What we cannot fake
is the resulting, distinctive aroma of pleasure to God. Most marriage books
address the mere externals of marriage, without seeking to understand the
heart issues. Godly marriages proceed from an obedient heart, and the
greatest desire of an obedient heart is the glory of God, not the happiness
of the household.

characterized by a Christianity, which implies when it doesn't declare, that
life is supposed to be easy for the child of God. The reader will see both
of these delusions dispelled in the life story of David Brainerd. Brainerd,
was willing to undergo great hardship to take the true gospel to the natives
of his day. His life shows all Christians what happens when "glorifying God
and enjoying Him forever" becomes ones chief aim in life. This certainly is
not a chicken soup for the soul book that can be read with little thought.
This book, however, will challenge every Christian to live for the glory of
God.

This book should be required reading for all who call themselves Christians!
Instead of the 4 Spiritual Laws, we should be reading this marvelous work by
this great Puritan Evangel. In less than 150 pages Alleine walks us through
what a true conversion consists of . Alleine tells us some of the mistakes
about conversion, the nature of conversion. To me the best chapter is 4
where he gives us the Marks of the Unconverted. Upon reading this I found my
soul deeply disturbed, as it was obvious that I was in an unconverted state,
25 years after praying to "receive Christ". I soon made a total surrender of
my all to Christ, vowing to live a holy life before Him. He points out, that
our lives, not our lips are the truest evidence of a saving faith. He closes
by showing us how to be converted, that the gates of Heaven and Mercy are
thrown open to us, and the Savior waits to embrace all who will accept as
LORD of all they do. When I get to heaven after I first embrace the savior,
I will search out Joseph Allenie. Charles E. Reid from Littleton, CO

we dare not be ashamed of communicating the convicting message of the
Gospel. That we dare not candy coat it. Or make the church so user-friendly
that the preaching of God's Word is compromised. MacArthur reminds today's
church of the inevitable spiritual consequences if Christians continue to
compromise biblical doctrine and the preaching of the Gospel. This masterful
work challenges the church to return to the roots of the Great Commission
and encourages a steadfast preaching of the Word of God.

John Owen insisted on the importance of Christians dealing effectively with
their sinful tendencies and attitudes. He believed that God, through his
Word and Spirit, has provided the guidelines and the power for this to be
achieved. In this book, John Owen effectively dismisses various excuses for
not engaging in self-scrutiny and yet avoids the current trend of
self-absorption. In so doing he provides principles to help believers live
lives of holiness.

has been endorsed by David Wilkerson, Dave Hunt, and many other Christian
leaders. Bill Gothard screened it via video to 30,000 pastors. Focus on the
Family put the teaching on their "Great Tapes" list, while one pastor
listened to the one hour audio tape 250 times. It really does hold the
forgotten key to reaching this nation with the Gospel. I would love to hear
your comments on the book. Why are so many unbelievers turning away from the
message of the gospel? Doesn't the Bible tell us how to bring sinners to
true repentance? If so, where have we missed it? The answer may surprise
you. One hundred years ago, Satan buried the crucial key needed to unlock
the believer's heart. Now Ray Comfort boldly breaks away from modern
tradition and calls for a return to biblical evangelism. If you're
experiencing evangelical frustration over lost souls, unrepentant sinners
and backslidden "believers," then look no further. This radical approach
could be the missing dimension needed to win our generation to Christ.

This book had a great impact on my life, especially as a wife and mother.
Many times, the things she advocated made me resentful, because they demand
that I die to my own will, and treat people the way GOD wants me to treat
them, whether they deserve it or not! I loved her way of prioritizing
things, reminding us that our husbands and children come before anyone else,
and that our families should never doubt how important they are to us.
Walking in God's path isn't easy, and it is a relief to hear an author
encourage us to take the hard way, instead of the easy way!

It wasn't until I came upon a trying situation that I started to read this
book that I had for 3 years. It has changed my attitude during my VERY
difficult situation. Let me share with you an excerpt that has meant so
much: "There is nothing--no circumstance, no trouble, no testing--that can
ever touch me until, first of all it has gone past God and past Christ,
right through to me. If it has come this far, it has come with a great
purpose, which I may not understand at the moment. But as I refuse to become
panicky, as I lift up my eyes to Him and accept it as coming from the throne
of God for some great purpose of blessing to my own heart, no sorrow will
ever disturb me, no trial will ever disarm me, no circumstance will cause me
to fret--for I shall rest in the joy of what my Lord is--That is the rest of
victory." No matter what I'm facing, I know that if I continue in His will,
I will only come out a winner.
